Camden had his 18 month check up this morning at a new pediatrician here in Castle Rock and she believes that he may be "gifted". She even went as far as to instruct me how to raise a gifted child. I am not denying that he is a pretty smart little boy, but I would never have called him gifted. So maybe we have a future Einstein on our hands. We don't want to forget about Maddy though. She was about at the same level of skills (minus motor skills) that Camden is at now. I think that their intellect would stem mostly from the fact that I am a stay at home mom. I don't stick my kids in daycare; I am with them all day reading and playing together. I believe that both kids are very smart and are eager to learn new things. If nothing else calling Camden gifted both made me laugh a little and feel a sense of pride that I haven't totally messed up as a parent yet.
On another note though I found the best pediatrician's office. They have a sick entrance and a well entrance, the make house calls or meet you at the office when possible late at night rather than referring you to the ER, and she was full of great nutrition tips for getting picky eaters to eat better.

Frustrated
Well, I have been trying to figure this all out forever. My last post does not look how I want it to and not like it does on the preview. I am not sure if I will ever get this all figured out...someone is going to have to show me how to do this.
Montrose visit
Since leaving Dahlia Apartments and gaining back our freedom we were able to make a trip to see Brian's family in Montrose, Colorado. I think the timing was a little too close to our trip to Texas. Camden I think had flashbacks of sitting in the car for hours. We only let them watch movies on long trips so once the TVs went on he started screaming. He knew he was going to be in that seat a lot longer than he would like. Other than the car rides the trip was good.
We were able to see Mark and Tawni's new house in Grand Junction as well as meet their daughter, Roxanne for the first time. Camden loved being around a baby smaller than him and was so nice to
her. We met them at Wendy's to get some dinner where Camden tried to share his chicken nuggets with Roxanne. He couldn't understand why no one would let her have one. He thinks they are the greatest food on the planet.

Maddy had a blast playing
with her aunt Brooke. Before we got there Maddy had Brooke's weekend all planned out. Lucky for Maddy Brooke is nice enough to play with Maddy for long periods of time. They played the piano, brushed each others' hair, painted their nails, and made a tent in the basement to ca
mp in. Maddy also loved Grandma's collection of markers and colored pencils. Maddy spent countless hours coloring pictures and making decorations at the kitchen table.
I think I would have to say that Camden's favorite part of the trip would probably be the candy from Grandpa. He likes anyone who will feed him candy.

Unfortunately it was so cold while we were there that it wasn't much fun to be outside. Maddy loves the park th
at is nearby becasue it has a purple slide and was very eager to visit it. It was so cold that Camden didn't even want to play at the park and sat in the car with me (which was fine since I was freezing too) and Maddy only went down the slide 3 or 4 times and then was ready to leave as well.

Sunbeams and Nursery
I can't believe how fast Maddy and Camden are growing up. Maddy is in sunbeams at church and Camden has started nursery. Maddy was said to leave nursery, but seems to be enjoying sunbeams and making new friends in the ward here. Camden, on the other hand, hates nursery. We usually stay with him for the first few minutes and then have to leave to teach our primary class. Once we are gone, I am told he is hysterical and has to be taken out in the hall and carried around for the entire time. I feel so bad for him. He is really attached to mom and dad. Hopefully he will enjoy it one day if he ever gives it a chance.

I have finaly been sucked in!
Friends have been encouraging the start of a blog now for many months and with our recent move the requests have only turned to demands. I can't believe that I have started this. I will somehow attempt to figure this out, but we hope to keep in contact with family and friends!
